All About Our Ballet Studio
Forget everything and dance
Sur la Pointe Ballet Studio is a place where children can express themselves and use their imagination.
I am Jacqui Novello. I have been dancing since the age of six. I attended high school at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg. After matriculating I simultaneously obtained
my Degree in Ballet at Tshwane University of Technology as well as my qualification in Advanced ballet and as a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance.
I love to dance and my goal is to share my passion with my students. As your ballerina’s teacher, I would do everything to make her feel special and loved.
I firmly believe that any goal can be reached through hard work, discipline, motivation, and perseverance. Classical ballet consists of three elements: technique, music, and performance. It is important to achieve an equilibrium between style, precision, and love of dance.
We have a ballet recital at the end of each year, where the ballerinas can show off their new moves.
Ballet allows one to relax, it improves your posture, coordination, confidence, concentration, and creativity.
Sur la Pointé Classes
Pre-Primary classes
These are the classes where young ballerinas find their passion for ballet. Our Pre-Primary and Primary ballet levels, teach the students the fundamentals of ballet technique which forms the foundation for their ballet careers.
The ballet grades
These classes teach the students new and exciting steps and dances. The Graded syllabus provides a broad, practical, dance education, and develops technical, musical, and performance skills.
The students really use their imagination in these classes, while completing the RAD Grade 1 to Grade 5 syllabus.
Intermediate and Advanced ballet
These classes are by far my personal favorite. Why? Dancing on Point shoes! The Vocational Graded syllabus provides an in-depth study of ballet and prepare students for a career in dance.
Body conditioning
It increases flexibility, circulation, develops core strength, promotes weight loss, increases body/mind awareness, and antenatal and postnatal well-being.
This class makes exercising fun and rewarding.
